About Me

I enjoy teaching because I wholeheartedly believe in the potential of young people.  Children are inherently observant, kind, and creative and I am inspired by them every day! I have always appreciated the richness that a good education can bring to a person’s life and I want to be a positive part of that process for my students.

After growing up in California, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Education from CSU, Chico. The following year I worked for AmeriCorps tutoring children who’s families were homeless or in transition. It was then that I discovered my love of teaching. I went back to school and earned my Masters in Education at Eastern Oregon University and to date have been teaching for 15 years.

Recently I have become interested in Library Sciences and I am happy to continue my career as Parkview’s Teacher Librarian. I feel so fortunate to be able to engage students in reading, media literacy, and research.

I have lived in California, Oregon, Idaho, and Vermont but Utah is where my husband and I have decided to settle. We love the amazing access to the outdoors. We bike, ski, and hike all over the beautiful Wasatch Mountains with our two kids.

“Watch your thoughts, they become words; watch your words, they become actions; watch your actions, they become habits; watch your habits, they become character; watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.”
