About Me

“A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove... but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.” - Forest E. Witcraft, Teacher, Scholar

I love kids and enjoy the opportunity to work with them every day! I love to read and spend time with my family. My last name is Japanese and means “blue-green willow.” I attended Gonzaga University for my undergraduate degree and am a proud Bulldog!  I earned my Master’s degree from the University of Utah – go Utes!

My favorite book is A Widow for One Year by John Irving. My birthday is my favorite time to celebrate! I love chocolate peanut butter ice cream. I love to watch soccer, especially my own boys, aged 10 and 12.

I have been teaching for 20 years and still love every minute!  I feel fortunate to be at Parkview and work with teachers to put best practice into action every day.
