Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!

The School Community Council makes informed decisions about our children's future. We encourage you to join and attend our meetings. Welcome flyers and SCC Candidate forms are listed on the right side of the webpage. We will meet either virtually or in-person depending on current health regulations in our city.

El Consejo Comunitario Escolar toma decisiones informadas sobre el futuro de nuestros hijos. Le animamos a unirse y asistir a nuestras reuniones. What is a School Community Council? The School Community Council (SCC) is a group of elected parent/guardian and employee representatives who work together with the principal to increase student achievement and address school safety. By law, the SCC is responsible to review school data and develop plans for school improvement. The SCC is an advisory group that helps with the development of the Land Trust Plan, School Improvement Plan, School Improvement Plan, School Safety Plan, Digital Citizenship Plan, and Positive Behavior Plan. How do I join the SCC? Parents elect parent representatives and employees elect employee representatives for a two-year term.  To be eligible, a parent must have a student enrolled in the school for at least one of the years. A parent representative may work for the district, but not this school. The SCC must have two parent representatives more than employee representatives.  Elections are held in the fall.  We have Four parent openings and one employee opening for 2024-25 school year. Nominations will be open until October 28, 2024, at 3:30 PM. The election will take place on October 31 from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Votes can be cast in the front office.

We invite you to become involved in your school’s Community Council by declaring your candidacy.  Please return this form by Monday, October 28th at 3:30 PM to Principal Kalina Potts kalina.potts@slcschools.org. Forms available on the school’s website and at the front office (hard copy).

¿Qué es un Consejo Comunitario Escolar? El Consejo Comunitario Escolar (SCC) es un grupo de padres/tutores electos y representantes de empleados que trabajan junto con el director para aumentar el rendimiento estudiantil y abordar la seguridad escolar. Por ley, el SCC es responsable de revisar los datos escolares y desarrollar planes para mejorar la escuela. El SCC es un grupo asesor que ayuda con el desarrollo del Plan de Fideicomiso de Tierras, el Plan de Mejoramiento Escolar, el Plan de Seguridad Escolar, el Plan de Ciudadanía Digital y el Plan de Comportamiento Positivo de la escuela. ¿Cómo me uno al SCC? Los padres eligen a los representantes de los padres y los empleados eligen a los representantes de los empleados por un período de dos años.  Para ser elegible, un padre debe tener un estudiante matriculado en la escuela durante al menos uno de los años. Un representante de los padres puede trabajar para el distrito, pero no para esta escuela. El SCC debe tener dos representantes de los padres más que representantes de los empleados.  Las elecciones se celebran en otoño.  Tenemos cuatro vacantes para padres y una vacante para empleados para el año escolar 2024-25. Las nominaciones estarán abiertas hasta el 28 de octubre de 2024 a las 3:30 pm. Las elecciones tendrán lugar el 31 de octubre de las 8:00 am – 5:00 pm .
